To those of us who love the late Ebony Reigns to the core, we are still yet to recover from her shocking demise. Ebony died alongside two others when the Jeep vehicle in which she was travelling, collided with a VIP bus around at Nyamebekyere, near Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region on February 8, 2018.

Since then, other female ladies have sprouted up and told Ghanaians confidently that they have what it takes to fill the big shoes the Dancehall queen left behind. Bullet introduced Wendy Shay as Ebony’s replacement and we must admit she’s doing well, but as to whether she has replaced Ebony to the fullest is debatable.

On the other side of the coin, Ebony’s father, Staboy Kwarteng introduced Kim Maureen as her daughter’s replacement. He signed her to his new record label, Bony To The World Records. Starboy established that record label to honour his late Ebony and uphold her legacy.

Moments after he signed Kim Maureen and touted her as the next biggest thing, Mr Opoku Kwarteng told Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM’s morning show that he consulted Ebony spiritually before signing

‘This girl sitting here, I called her as late as twelve, after my consultation with the Queen and trust me this girl will go Ebony way, he said. However, Kim Maureen is not living up to the billing. It’s obvious she’s neither a good songwriter or recording artiste as opposed to Ebony. Remember Bullet used to write songs for Ebony and nurtured her but Starboy Kwarteng obviously does not have these requisites which is why Kim Maureen is not shinning.
