Robert Baka Wavei, former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sissala West District, of the Upper West Region, has defected to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to join their campaign train.
The incident happened following Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s visit to the region, at a durbar of Chiefs and people of Gwollu where Honorable Robert Baka Wavei announced his move from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the NPP.
Vice President Bawuia also welcomes him into the NPP fraternity.

“We wish from today to welcome a former NDC District Chief Executive, Robert Baka Wavei to our party. NPP stands for development and I wish to urge other members of the NDC to emulate him”, the Vice President urged.
The former DCE of the NDC said his decision to defect to the NPP has been influenced by attesting to himself the massive developmental projects the Akufo-Addo government has done in the region.
He also appealed to other members of the National Democratic Congress to follow in his footsteps and join tthe NPP.
Although, NPP lost most parliamentary seats in the region in the the 2016 elections, but Mr. Wavei has called for all hands on deck of the NPP members in the area to rally behind the party and win election 2020 on December 7.
