Beyonce surprised the world this week when she announced she is pregnant with twins. She has already shared adorable pictures of her protruding belly in different positions.
What we could have missed in some of her pictures is the fact that the multiple Grammy award winner paid homage to a Goddess in Nigeria called Oshun. According to Wikepedia, Oshun (known as Ochun or Oxum in Latin America) is an orisha, a spirirt deity that reflects one of the manifestations of God in the Ifa and Yoruba religions. She is one of the most popular and venerated orishas.
The article goes on to say Oshun is a deity of the river and fresh water, luxury and pleasure, sekzuality and fertility, and beauty and love.
It is very obvious Beyonce is attaching some sort of spiritual connection to her twins since Nigerians and Africa as a whole regard twins as mythical beings.
We just wish her the best and wait in anticipation for the famous twins to be born.
