A report by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) revealed that out of the 231 Ghanaians who were deported from Kuwait to Ghana, 35 of them have tested positive for Coronavirus.

The report indicated that the figure represents 15% of the total population of the deportees that arrived in the country on Saturday, May 23, 2020.

“The results of the initial test of all 231 Kuwaiti returnees had 35 (15.15%) of them being positive for COVID-19,”

the GHS said in an update it published on Sunday, May 31, 2020.

The deportees reportedly arrived on board a special chartered Kuwait Airways flight that contained 284 passengers made up of 241 Ghanaians and 43 Togolese nationals who continued their journey to Togo.
