Nana Akufo Addo has managed to score high marks during this Covid-19 era although a chunk of the populace thinks he could have done better by closing the borders and all entry points in Ghana before the country even recorded its first case of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
It seems that brief exploit has made people forget that Nana Akufo Addo’s four years administration has been a huge disappointment.
Invariably, Nana Akufo Addo’s failings have reinforced why John Dramani Mahama should be the next option in the next election.

Let’s take a look at why people think he has failed woefully and ultimately deceived us all.
1. Bad performance of the cedi
The cedi has performed woefully against the major European currencies so much that the government of Ghana through the Ministry of Finance set up a committee to investigate the cause of the free fall of the Cedi against the major trading currencies especially the Dollar in January 2020.
This has disappointed a lot of Ghanaians owing to the noise Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia made while in opposition, saying amongst other things that he wields the magic wand to turn things around when the NPP comes to power.
2. Corruption
The embezzlement of public funds by civil servants and government officials in Ghana seems to have reached an all-time high and the canker has pervaded the fabric of public sector institutions, posing grave repercussions for the socio-economic growth of the country. The current administration has not found any financial malfeasance after conducting investigations into the various projects initiated by the past government.
3. Hardship
The hardship under Nana Akufo Addo has been very unbearable. The cost of living keeps soaring while the cedi continue to lose its value against the major foreign currencies. There’s no money in the system and people are struggling to eat three times daily.
4. Ghana in more debts under NPP
Nana Akufo Addo’s ministerial cabinet is unprecedented in the political history of Ghana. There’s a total of 110 ministerial appointments. As you can imagine, this will invariably promote corruption.
