Death is a subject many do not want to discuss because of the eeriness and anguish associated with it. However you look at it, death is inevitable and we will all face it one day.

#1. Okyeame Kojo Kumi
Okyeame Kojo Kumi was phenomenal in the early days of hiplife. His own albums did not do well commercially but when other musicians featured him, his delivery makes the song a hit.
Just dig into the archives and look for Twen woho by Obrafuor featuring Okyeame Kojo Kumi.
Unfortunately a protracted illness cut short his talent. He died in February, 2015.
#2. Araz
One of the best songs in 2003 was Lai momo written and produced by Araz. He was a proponent of Ga rap and even though that song was his only hit, he managed to have a huge fan base.
Araz was shot and killed in a chieftaincy dispute in Joma, a village in the Greater Accra Region.
Many thought Ronny Coaches wasn’t talented because he lived under the shadows of Bright. That was not true. His contribution to the group Bukbak was significant.
Ronnie Coaches died of a heart attack at the age of 36 years. He died in November, 2013.
#3. Pozo
Omahene Pozo was one of the pioneers of hiplife. Together with Sydney, they made hit songs in the past before they went their separate ways.
Even as a solo artiste, he made hit songs whilst collaborat ing with highlife legends and revitalized the highlife genre in the process. Wasei
Pozo died of brain tumour in September, 2016.
#4. Castro
One of the most talented musicians we have ever had is Theophilus Tagoe better known as Castro. Making it on our list here will certainly raise eyebrows but let’s face the fact; Castro is dead.
He died in a tragic boat accident at Ada with his female friend in July 2014. His body has still not been found after a thorough search by marine police, fishermen and all concerned citizens.

Bak Tye
Former Hiplife star, Bak Tye has reportedly passed on following a protracted illness diagnosed as tuberculosis. This was confirmed to showbizpunchgh.com in an exclusive interview by the younger brother of the deceased.
According to him, Bak Tye kicked the bucket between the hours of 4 and 5pm at the Ridge Hospital where he has been on admission for sometime.
He also noted that Bak Tye was on admission due to his health deteriorating due to the Tuberculosis diagnosed by the doctors and he believes his brother may have died due to the ailment.
Bak Tyre was one of the stars of yesteryear when Hip-life was still in its experimental stage. He collaborated with Samini, then known as Batman, Castro and a host of others.
