Netizens have reacted after a photo of a 10-year-old boy identified as Bello Abdulkadir Ado, holding a gun as security personnel in Katsina State hit online.
The child is said to be a member of a vigilante group in Katsina State’s Safana local government district. The image, which was posted on social media, elicited a mixed response, with many accusing it of child abuse.

Pathokpo: This is so wrong. The use of child soldiers has long been aborted and condemned in the UN charter on combat. It definitely will affect the child in the long and short run both psychologically and socially. He could also be easily manipulated by his commanders to carry out illegal orders since he doesn’t fully understand the concept of good and evil.
