Honorable Adamu Daramani Sakande, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Bawku Central Constituency, in the Upper East region has been reported dead on Tuesday in London, United Kingdom.

Mr. Adamu Daramani Sakande was reported to have flew out of the country after being convicted of perjury and forgery in 2003. The report said he went for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the Accra Fast Track High Court in 2012 had already passed judgment on Hon. Adamu Dramani Sakande to serve two years imprisonment after he was found guilty of false declaration of office, perjury and deceit of a public officer.

However, Former President John Dramani Mahama granted him Presidential pardon on the basis of his health condition.

Mr. Saknde ruined the allegations of escaping from the law, of which he blamed Daily Graphic for publishing a report that said he was rushed to London for serious medical attention.

He said in reply to the Daily Graphic report “Yes, I am due for medical check-up in the United Kingdom, but the impression is not as bad as being suggested by sections of the media.”

The Honorable Member of Parliament was 58 years old and left behind a wife and two children.
