Farouk was arrested yesterday after he hit and killed a police officer who had closed from his shift at Dormaa Ahenkro.
Farouk was arraigned before the Sunyani High Court today and he has admitted to hitting the police officer accidentally but the cause is yet to be revealed by the court.
The spokesperson of the Aduana Stars, Evans Oppong told Starr Sports that Farouk’s current state at the police station is not good and looks very disappointing and have pleaded with the court to grant him bail.
He added that; “as for the accident, he has admitted he accidentally hit the police officer but what really caused it is the court that will determine it. As a club, we shall arrange a lawyer for him to defend the issue. Our legal team will try to please the court today that Farouk is also injured and needs medical attention. So we will plead with the court to grant him bail for him to receive medical treatment so that in the next court sitting he will appear healthy.”
Meanwhile, Farouk’s contract with the club ended in January but it has been extended for another one year, thus the club’s reason to get him out of cells as soon as possible.
