Ghanaians were stunned when legendary Asamoah Gyan (yes he is a living a legend!) elected himself to play a penalty during a friendly encounter between Black Stars and USA, years after vowing not do so. And unfortunately he missed once again.
It will be recalled that the Black Stars Skipper has on numerous occasion squandered crucial penalties which has caused lots of disaffection with Ghanaians. In fact he has courted threat and abuse from soccer fans in the country as a result of his perpetual misses.
“I have said it several times and I’ll say it again today too, I will not rescind my decision not to take penalty kicks for the national team again, I will only play when it’s a penalty shoot-out and I have no option but even with that, I will not be part of the first five,”
It’s against this background that self-styled Queen of Comedy, Afia Schwarzenegger has sarcastically asked Asamoah Gyan why he changed his mind.
Afia Schwarzenegger said:”I tot you said your mum asked you to stay away from penalties? Where you disrespecting your mother’s ghost or you lied to Ghanaians….. but you kraaa why? Stay Away from our penalties. Akua Donkor can do better.”
