Akumaa Mama Zimbi of the Odo Ahumasu fame did not only talk about her struggles on climbing the ladder of success. She went beyond condemning homosekzuality and this just might leave many ladies breaking their own hearts.
Before I used to think there is nothing wrong with a woman proposing marriage to a man and I still stand by that. I have found myself subtly proposing to a man before— not marriage though.
The aftermath of such moves is what leaves us worried. I often asked what happens next if a woman proposes to a man, will she go ahead and pay his bride price or whatever name they would give to it?
We have had few too many incidents of ladies taking this bold step and their men walking out on them yet Mama Zimbi hued the stroke of what I will call absurdity for the lack of a better word.
“Yes! Women can propose marriage to men as well… It’s very important. There’s absolutely nothing wrong if a woman propose to a man. When my husband met me, he proposed and I told him, I’ve heard but as time goes on, I told him I love you more. When a person tells you ‘I love you’ doesn’t mean he has married you.”
She disclosed this in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat.
