In the wake of Anas’ number 12 expose’, some Ghanaian referees have been punished for such unfriendly football act.

Out of the 75 referees captured in Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Number 12, 14 of them have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

A report indicates that 51 of them have been banned from all football-related activities for a period of 510 years.

The referees were captured in a video, attempting to prejudice the outcome of football matches.

Ghgossip has learned that eight of them have been banned from all football-related activities for life.

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Curtis Perry Kwabla Okudzeto, who confirmed the decision of the investigations of Referees Association of Ghana (RAG), wrote “the RAG has concluded investigations on their (75) members captured in the Anas #Number12 Expose.

14 of them have been cleared of any wrongdoing. 51 of them have been banned for 10 years each whilst 8 have been banned for life. On track to get back the passion and sanctity of the game”

The Anas-led Tiger Eye PI in June 2018 premiered Number 12, a video which showed acts of corruption by football officials in Ghana.

The expose led to the resignation of Kwasi Nyantakyi from the offices of president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), West African Football Association (WAFA) and vice president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

It was then followed by his removal from the executive committee of FIFA and a 90-day suspension from all football activities, which was further extended by 45 days.
