A frustrated Philip Addison has reportedly denounced his New Patriotic Membership as he goes as an independent for Akuapem North Constienecy in the 2020 polls after series of sabotage he was subjected to before and during the NPP’s primaries.

His posters and new matra have since surfaced all over the constituency, copies of which have been made available online. It has been gathered that some influential functionaries of the party are strongly behind him and have urged him to go for the seat as an independent candidate.
Philip Addison took this bold step after Dr. Twumasi was disqualified to contest the Akuapem North primaries, for frivolous reasons, leading to agitations and tensions among the constituency and polling center executives, with some accusing the presidency of masterminding that since the MP’s father plays a key role in the seat of government.

Mr Addison’s move is contrary to a stern warning issued by the National Organizer of the party Sammi Awuku who said immediately after the primaries that any person who does not obey the party’s rules and regulations will be expelled from the party. ‘There are a lot of sanctions against such persons. One of it is forfeiting your membership or expulsion from the party, he had revealed. The leadership further warned that it would physically prevent persons who were either disqualified or defeated to go independent.
