Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has commiserated with the family of the music legend, kIng Sunny Ade over the loss of his wife, Madam Risikat Ajoke Adegeye.
Atiku prayed for the departed soul to seek eternal rest in God’s bosom. He commended people to take a cue from the marriage of King Sunny Ade and his wife as they stayed married for over 40 years.
He tweeted: While we thank the Almighty God for the milestone of good age behind you, we pray that the family finds the courage to pass through this grief and grant your wife’s soul peaceful repose.
The coincidence of departure into greater glory of Madam Risikat Ajoke Adegeye, a wife of over 40 years to our friend that we celebrate today, came as a rude shock yesterday.
King Sunny Ade clocks 75 today. It should have been a day to celebrate and rejoice with the undisputed king of juju music, but today cannot be about that.
