The ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has received a backlash from the country’s youth following his call on the government to ban sports betting companies in Ghana as it is destroying youth.
He believes that the activity is destroying the youth of Ghana and should be restricted rather than taxing the gambling industry.

I have read several articles on this. I thought the government would come up with a policy to restrict gambling and even ban it, ”he said.
Speaking on PM Express on JoyNews on Monday, the former deputy finance minister said the government should not focus too much on mobilizing revenue to the detriment of citizens.
In reaction to his call, some young people took to social media to verbally attack the highest-ranking member of Parliament.
