Veteran Ghanaian actress, Grace Omaboe, popularly known on-screen as Maame Dokono has advised her fellow colleagues in the entertainment industry to be careful when joining or aligning with any political party in the country.

According to the renowned actress, the failure and success of the political party will definitely affect the career and relations of the person.

In an interview with George Quaye, Maame Dokono said that movie producers are unwilling to cast actors and actresses who are out and proud of their political parties because of fear and backlash, adding that producers do not consider creative as part of them and may suffer should that political party lose the election.

“I will tell my fellow colleagues to be careful when joining any political party because if you are not careful and the party loses that election you will lose everything. The party will not look at you as somebody who belongs to them. Producers will not use you because they will say people will not buy their products”

she said.

“When they see you they will not even come close to you because they will say you are not marketable and so they will not use” she added.

She also said these things had a massive impact on her career after her party lost the election. She, therefore, advised upcoming actors and actresses to be careful when siding with any political party.
