Owner and bankroller of Ghana Division One League, Berekum Arsenal Alhaji Yakubu Moro has died.
He was confirmed dead on Thursday evening at the Ridge Hospital in Accra after a short illness and will be buried on Friday, per Islamic practice.
Under Moro’s tenure, Berekum Arsenal were promoted to the Ghana Premier League in 2000 and stayed in the elite division for the next 13 years.
The club also competed in the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in 2006.
