After Beyonce’s track Brown Skin Girl, which features Saint Jhn and Wizkid, won the best cinematography, the youngster was named to the winner’s list.
Because she sang an adorable verse and starred in the music video, Blue Ivy is acknowledged as a performer on the tune, making her the youngest recipient of a Video Music Award in its history.
Brown Skin Girl beat out Justin Bieber’s Holy, Lady Gaga’s 911, Lorde’s Solar Power, Billie Eilish’s Therefore I Am, and Foo Fighters’ Shame Shame for the number one spot.
However, Blue Ivy was unable to accept the prize in person since she was preoccupied with other matters, such as relaxing on a superyacht in Europe with her family. Yes, Beyonce, Jay Z, Blue Ivy, and four-year-old twins Rumi and Sir are presently touring France and Italy to commemorate Queen Bey’s 40th birthday, which happened on September 4th. Also, because the best cinematography category was not televised, they didn’t lose out on anything.
Gradually, Blue Ivy is building a brand for herself in the music industry, initially appearing on a recording as a newborn when Jay Z used her small screams on his song Glory in 2012.
She also became the youngest winner of a BET Award at the age of eight when she won the BET Her Award in 2020 for her collaboration on “Brown Skin Girl”. She won an NAACP Image Award and received a Grammy Award for Best Music Video for the same song, becoming the second-youngest person to win a Grammy Award after Leah Peasall of The Peasall Sisters in 2002.
