Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly know as Burna Boy is a Nigerian singer born on July 2nd 1991to Mr. and Mrs. Ogulu at Ahoada in Port Harcourt.

He grew up in the southern part of Nigeria and began programming his own beats using fruity loops.

He attended Corona Secondary School in Agbara and later relocated to London to further his studies.

Burna Boy describes his music as Afro-fusion a genre that blends Afrobeat, dancehall riddims, reggae, American rap and R&B.

Burna Boy rose to prominent after the releasing of his song ”Like To Party” his lead single from his debut album ”LIFE” in 2012/2013.

In 2013, he won the Best New Act Of The Year At Nigerian Entertainment Awards and was nominated for Best R&B single at The Headies.

In 2017, he was signed to Bad Habit Atlantic Record in the United States.

In 2019, he won Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards and was announced as ”Apple Music Up Next Artiste” and in July 2019, his fourth studio album ”African Giant” won album of the year at All Africa Music Awards and was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
