Following mass protests by South Africans on social media, Nigerian act Burns Boy has been withdrawn from the forthcoming African Unite concert scheduled for November 24 in South Africa.

Burna Boy was listed among artists that would be performing on the day of the massive entertainment event in South Africa but that did bit go well with a section of South Africans.

His inclusion angered majority of South Africans who got offended by his harsh words during the furore of the xenophobic attacks and has called on the organisers to drop him ASAP!

After being called out on social media when it emerged that he’s indeed coming back to South Africa, the ‘Hosanna’ hitmaker subtly revealed he has his own reason for rescinding his decision. According to him, he will contribute a portion of the proceeds from the concert to the victims of xenophobic attacks.

In a new development following an extensive engagement with Burna Boy’s team, Phambili and Play Media network have decided to withdraw the artiste from performing.

Furthermore the concert itself has also been cancelled. On this note, provisions have already been made for fans who already bought tickets to be refunded.
