The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) together with the National Security Council has impounded 152 Kgs of cocaine disguised as sugar at Tema Port.

According to reports by the Narcotics Control Commission, they say they received a tip-off information about a container departing from Brazil to Ghana to have possibly carrying a substance suspected to be a cocaine.

They say they acted on the information with the National Security and put in place security surveillance at the port on the shipment until the contraband substances were intercepted.

NACOC says a total of 150 slabs substances are suspected to be narcotics that were retrieved from the consignment under the joint operation. Adding that, some people suspected to be connected to the smuggle have been arrested for investigation.
