Deputy Minister of Trade and Industries, Mr Carlos Kingsley Ahenkoran, has said despite being COVID-19 positive, he toured some registration centres to see how the process was going when the Electoral Commission began registering Ghanaians for a new voter ID card ahead of the 7 December 2020 polls.

In an interview on Citi FM, Carlos Ahenkorah gives his reasons why he visited Voter’s Registration Centers eventhough he knew he’s Covid-19 positive. He said,

“Once I know my COVID-19 status, I know how to handle myself amongst people. I didn’t spend more than five minutes at the registration centre. Knowing my status [as positive for COVID-19] and the fact that I was asymptomatic I visited one registration centre but didn’t go amongst any people, although I did step out of my car”

He continued,

I am asymptomatic. My driver has also been tested for COVID-19 and tested positive. He just drove me to the centre, he didn’t get out of the car with me”
