The incumbent regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Bernard Antwi Boasiako who is known as Chairman Wontumi has retained his position.
This comes after he beat his close competitor, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) and this comes from the backdrop that Wontumi was going to lose.

Opinions polls were also in favor of COKA, however, as the saying goes, ‘FEAR DELEGATES’, Chairman Wontumi did some magic to win.

His win means he will be chairing the affairs of the party in the region.
Weeks ago, Chairman Wontumi was in the news as he revealed his intentions of buying the popular English premier league club, Chelsea Football Club.
He made arrangements as he even submitted his bid to buy the club, however, his hopes ended in the mud as there were higher bids than his bid.
