The artistes in this write up got their nicknames from the unlikeliest source- their own song titles. The names popped up in their songs as song titles but Ghanaians forcefully etched it to their personality.

1. Kwaw Kese- Abodam
Kwaw Kese’s real name is Emmanuel Kofi Botchwey but he earned the name Abodam after he dropped a song titled Abodam in 2007. That song won him five awards the following year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Till this day, Kwaw Kese is often referred to as Abodam, or the Man Insane. So the next time you hear Abodam, you will remember where he got it name from.
2. Daasaebre Gyemenah- Ahoofe
Until his sad demise, Daasebre Gyamenah, was a Ghanaian highlife musician who became very popular for his hit album Kokooko which featured Lord Kenya. Kokooko was the first major fusion of hiplife and highlife in Ghana. Daasaabre was a serial hitmaker who topped the charts with his smooth-singing voice. He earned the nickname Ahoofe after a song of the same title he dropped in the year 2003.
3. Bosom Pyung- Ataa Ahoofe
Young rapper Bosom Pyung also got the name Ataa Adwoa after he exploded onto the scene earlier this year with a song titled Ataa Adwoa. The song is undoubtedly one of the biggest song of the year and giving him mainstream relevance. Some people have even forgotten his professional name is Bosom Pyung and always refer to him as Ataa Adwoa.
4. Okomfuor- Kwadee
Okomfuor Kwadee was originally called Okomfuo as his stage name until he dropped his monster hit song, Kwadee in 2003. The song resonated with Ghanaians so much that they decided to add to his name. He gladly accepted it and in subsequent albums, he added Kwadee to his previous name Okomfuor. The HipLife star is one of the biggest rappers of all time until his career took a nosedive.
