Ghana transfer window slammed shut on October 31 with the biggest news on deadline day being Asamoah Gyan’s move to Legon Cities FC.

The 34-year-old has joined the not so popular club on a free transfer. The deal confirms his return to the Ghana Premier League, 17 years after leaving Liberty Professionals.

Gyan has professed his love for Kotoko on countless occasions and was ready to play for the Porcupine Warriors but his financial demands put them off. However, Legon Cities FC were equal to the task.

According to Gyan’s business manager and local agent, Samuel Anim Addo, the striker “$1 million dollars in cash and packages”

Many would be surprised by this but the fact is Legon Cities are now one of the rich clubs in Ghana. The clubs shareholders have deep pockets and are not scared of investing in the club.
