An Abuja-based court has ordered for the immediate arrest of the son of former Nigerian vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

The presiding judge, Bashir Danmaisule ordered his arrest after he failed to comply with a judgment that he should hand over their three sons to his divorced wife, Maryam Sherif.

It could be recalled that his divorced wife challenged an earlier ruling that prevented her from seeing their three daughters.

Maryan Sherrif was granted custody after the case was transferred to the Upper Area Court at Kubwa which he is yet to comply with.

In view of this, the lady’s lawyer Nasir Saidu applied for the issuance of a judgment-debtor summons for the defendant to appear in court to explain why he did not obey the court’s order.

Per a report by LIB, both the defendant and his lawyer failed to appear in court although they were served with the summons.
