The NCDC announced that Nigeria recorded 1544 fresh cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, January 8 2021.
From the data, Lagos State recorded the highest of the day with 739 followed by Plateau state with 168 new cases.

Nigeria now has 97,478 confirmed cases and a total number of 78,552 patients discharged. Meanwhile, 1342 patients have died from the coronavirus.
