On Saturday, March 6, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that 195 cases of the novel coronavirus was recorded.

From the reports gathered, Lagos State recorded 70 fresh cases making it the highest of the day followed by Kaduna State.

Kaduna-22, Abia-20, Edo-18, Kano-10, Akwa Ibom-9, Rivers-7, FCT-7, Borno-6, Bauchi-5, Osun-5, Oyo-5, Plateau-3, Ekiti-3, Niger-2, Ogun-2 and Zamfara-1.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 158,237. Meanwhile, 1,964 people have died and 137,645 patients have been released from various isolation centers.

Nigeria received 3.92 million doses of the Astrazeneca vaccine on Tuesday and the COVID-19 vaccination ceremony was launched on Friday, March 5. On Saturday, the President, Vice President and other members of the Federal executive council receives jabs of the vaccine.
