Afrobeat specialist Davido will have the honour to perform with compatriots Femi Kuti on the same stage alongside other notable artistes across the continent on the Global Citizens Festival.
Global Citizen Live reportedly takes place on Septem ber 25 and it’s designed to unite African artistes with diverse specialties and styles from different countries as they assemble on one stage.
It will be broadcast over 24 hours around the world on Apple Music, Apple TV App, YouTube and Twitter as well as partner television and radio stations across different regions.
The event will feature several artistes, activists, corporate leaders, and world leaders to mark a global recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A statement by Global Citizen Canada reads: “Afrobeats icon Davido embodies exactly what it means to be a Global Citizen. WE can’t wait for him to join us in Lagos as Part of #GlobalCitizenLive – a 24-hour music festival on Sept. 25!”
The international advocacy organisation said TV personalities Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Nancy Isime will host the Global Citizen Live event in Lagos, Nigeria.
Meanwhile, a crazy fan of Nigerian musician Davido lost control of herself when she sighted the singer in ‘flesh and blood’ for the first time in her life.
The elated lady who could not reach Davido captured him on camera while he was swarmed by his crew members and security guards.
Her unrestrained screams attracted the attention of the singer who looked back in her direction but that was all he could to do to acknowledge her hysteria. Watch the video below;
