Benue University has lost its Deputy Vice-Chancellor and chairman of the Benue State Action Committee on COVID-19, Professor Godwin Achinge to the ravaging virus.

Prior to his death, Governor Samuel Ortom announced that the professor who was then alive had contracted the virus together with 36 people from an unknown source.

According to sources close to the professor, he couldn’t survive when he checked himself into a hospital in Jos on Sunday afternoon. There has not been any official announcement from his family but a close source confirmed the professor has passed on to the underworld.
