The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards eXperience concert went down live over the weekend at the Black Star Square, also called Independence Square in Accra. The concert was one of the activities lined up to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the VGMAs
Thousands of music lovers thronged to the venue even though it threatened to rain, hundred more arrived at the venue to jam to songs from their favourite artistes.
The main artistes on the bill were Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Kwesi Arthur, Samini, Adane Best, Akessi Brempong, and Tinny.
Shatta Wale arguably stole the show as he wowed the crowd with an electrifying performance with back-to-back rendition of his songs.
The other artistes also gave a good account of themselves but the night belonged to Wale, no doubt.
However, something happened when it was Samini’s turn to perform. According our correspondence, the fans started chanting Wale’s name whilst Samini was on stage and this infuriated him to leave the stage in disgust.
We’ll dig deep and find out if something of that sort happened.
