Rappers in Ghana have unique slogans that make them distinctive. Sarkodie had one when he started commercial music. His one time for your mind and to my niggaz on the block were very popular and helped pushed his brand.

However, Sark stopped using to my niggaz on the block

suddenly and many wondered what actually informed his decision especially at a time his fans have fallen madly in love with it.

Sark explained that radio presenters complained the word ‘nigga’ is a swear word therefore not suitable for radio, so he had no choice than to drop it.

He said, “I didn’t put that song out myself. It was leaked by Possigee. You know in the studio, when creativity hit you like that, you just have to let it go as in controlling your choice of words. But yes, we now have the radio edit, and that’s the same reason I stopped saying to my niggaz on the block. Radio presenters and DJs kept complaining that the word is not radio friendly so I just have to stop using it in my songs.”
