Governor Nasir El-Rufai has encouraged state citizens not to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the general elections of 2023.

The governor made the announcement today, November 24, at an empowerment event in the state. If the PDP is voted into power in 2023, he claims, it will only undermine his excellent reputation. If allowed to return to power, he added, the opposition party will “bring the state and the entire country backward.”

He urged the people to rally behind and vote for the candidate he will appoint as his successor in 2023, urging them to trust him in his selection of the state’s next governor.

“Some people said that what we have done now cannot be reversed, wrong. A bad governor, a PDP governor can reverse this in six months.

Don’t make the mistake of voting PDP back into office in 2023. If you do, things will go back to what they used to be. While we go through our process as APC and bring out a candidate and I endorse that candidate, please trust me that that person will be the better governor of Kaduna from 2023 and beyond” he said

Shehu Sani and Suleiman Hunkuyi, two former Senators from Kaduna North and Central, were accused by the governor of preventing major development in Kaduna State, which would have eclipsed the record achieved by his government, which the people of Kaduna are currently celebrating.
