An explosion which happened at Atoyo along Ijebu Ode Ogbere took the life of the driver of the diesel tanker on Friday February 12.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement confirmed the news to Channels TV that the reckless driving of the driver caused the sad occurrence.
Akinbiyi said;
“The driver of the Diesel laden tanker was driving recklessly when it suddenly lost control and fell on its side with its content spilling on the road before it exploded.
“The driver, according to eyewitness account was the only occupant in the vehicle when the unfortunate incident happened and was burnt to ashes before rescue effort could reach him.”
But then, he added that that the registration number of the car couldn;t be recovered looking at the level of damage caused.
