The late Ebony Reigns, who was crowned the Artiste of the Year at last year’s VGMA, still holds the title after the VGMA board bared their teeth at Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy few minutes ago in a press conference.
The pair have been banned indefinitely from the annual awards whilst the award they won on the night (May 18) have been invalidated.
The two top-most awards, Song of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year have also been nullifed which invariably suggests that the late superstar still reigns.
This somewhat gives credence to what Mr Opoku Kwarteng aka Starboy said few days ago in the aftermath of the unprecedented brawl which erupted at the recently held VGMA that her daughter was the one who caused the confusion so she can still reign.
The two frontrunners of Dancehall music in Ghana took their age-long rivalry to a different dimmension when they openly engaged in a free for all fight on live TV.
It all began when Stonebwoy was declared the winner of the top most awards as far the Dancehall categories are concerned.
Moments after he mounted the stage to receive his award and deliver his acceptance speech, his rival Wale was seen moving towards the stage with his entourage.
Hell broke loose when Stonebwoy, thinking his security was under threat, pulled a gun to “defend” himself, but unfortunately that move became the catalyst for disaster. Several patrons fled the auditorium in panic whilst others allegedly fainted in the ensuing melee, with fans from both camps exchanging blows.
