The Economic Communities of West Africa States are meeting today Tuesday 15 September, 2020 in Ghana; Peduase to talk about restoring political stability and peace in it member state Mali.

Information Minister, Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah of the Republic of Ghana, has disclosed the ongoing meeting through his social media platforms to the Ghanaian public and West Africa at large.

He tweeted “As ECOWAS leaders gather in Peduase this morning to find a quick roadmap to the Malian challenge, our prayer is for continued wisdom and decisiveness for leadership to steer this well.”

Mali has in recent months experienced political instability and it has call for the concern of the leaders of ECOWAS to step in and try to intervene in the political affairs of it member. The elected government of Mali as it stands has been dissolved, and the bunty ban from Africa Union (AU) as the results of the government overthrow by the military.

The meeting will be the first after President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was elected as the Chair of the Community, the first in Ghana.
