Kumasi-based rapper, Eno Barony has spoken highly of first female Dancehall act, Abrewa Nana, saying all female artistes should be grateful to her for setting the pace for them.

According to Eno, while she was growing up, although she was in love with Mzbel and Abrewa Nana, her father tuned off the radio anytime their songs were being played.

She revealed that because her parents didn’t want her to pursue music because of her background (her father was a pastor).

Eno finally revealed how she aspires to be like the aforementioned artistes because in her own estimation, she’s not there yet.

She said:

“She said in a post on Instagram that “Growing up I use to watch tv a lot and I fell in love with these two women I didn’t hav the chance to learn their songs cuz anytime they appeared my dad will change the channel but their names and rhythms got stuck in my head It’s either I’ll sing ?mate odo filla filla ama me da mentumi 3nda 3nda ? or ? fama me fa w) me fa shi me wo wu wo me ntumi nko ooo awoso me.

And I wanted to be them when I grow up but there was no way u cld tell ur father that cuz all parents want to hear professions like doctor ,lawyer etc Their music journey wasn’t easy but yet they survived on the surface and paved a way for we the young ones to follow and as we celebrate mothers this week I celebrate u two @abrewa_nana @mzbeldaily
