Former president John Dramani Mahama, who’s seeking a surprise comeback to occupy Ghana’s highest position as a president, has revealed his intention to rejuvenate NPP’s Free Senior High School (SHS) policy if he is elected President in the upcoming 2020 general election.

According to the ex-president, he will institute a national stakeholders’ conference to develop strategies to make the programme more effective.

“We shall come together and decide on the proper implementation of Free SHS,” he said. According to Mahama, the NDC has “done it before”.

However, before all this could materialize, the ex-president must first win the flagbearer slot of his party before challenging Nana Akufo Addo in the general election in 2020.

Many political pundits believe Mahama could win the next election if he emerges winner of the internal election of the NDC, judging from the abysmal performance of the incumbent president and his administration.
