The family who is still in a state of shock following the death of Erasmus has requested privacy in this difficult time.

In an interview with Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Dr. Dominic Eduah, Executive Director of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, revealed this.

He clarified that the family made the appeal after a delegation paid them a visit to express their condolences.

According to some of his colleagues in Cuba, Erasmus whose death was reported on May 7 2021 can be attributed to the harsh living conditions in Cuba. They said that the Cuban government failed to provide an ambulance at the time of the emergency, leading to the death of Erasmus.

In response to the students’ statements, Dr. Eduah stated that the family told them during their visit that their son was a diabetic patient whose condition had been treated for some time. They will, however, await the autopsy report to determine the cause of death.

“The student’s father is also a medical doctor trained in Cuba and has expressed shock over some of the reports and media commentaries, especially concerning his son’s death”, Dr. Eduah said.

“He told us he has stayed away from the radio or TV and will also plead with the media to tone down its coverage of the incident,” he added.
