An unnamed nurse is currently the toast of netizens after photos of her crossing a river just to go discharge duty in a deprived community went viral.
The story was first shared by another nurse identified as Malcolm Ali who is a member of Coalition of Concerned Nurses and Midwives (CCNM).
The story has impressed a lot of people especially considering arrogant and selfishness stereotype associated with nurses in Ghana.
Malcolm wrote:
This is what we go through just to deliver health care services. Despite the circumstances and the passion for the job alone we risk our lives in order to save all children under 5 years from vaccine-preventable disease.”
He continued: ”Whether we are being appreciated or not we know heaven acknowledges our efforts. Not to talk of the numerous dumsor we face at our various CHPS ZONES where you have to move from one facility to the other just to preserve the potency of your vaccines.
May God protect those of us who go through similar situations just to deliver health care.”
