The schedule for the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar has been announced by FIFA with the world football governing body revealing that four matches will be played each day during the group stage.

According to FIFA, the group games will be played over a 12-day period. However, matches have not been assigned to particular venues until after the finals draw in March 2022.

They also announced the kickoff times for the first two rounds. Games will be played at 1pm, 4pm, 7pm and 10 pm local time with the eight stadiums all within a 40-mile radius of each other.

This means supporters and media could attend two games on the same day.

Qualifiers for the tournament is yet to start in most continents. Qatar will be hosting the tournament for the first time and it will take place in November and December instead of usual June and July,
