Fireboy DML is a Nigerian singer and song writer who was born on February 5, 1996 at Ogun State in Nigeria and his birth given name is Adedamola Adefolahan.

He was a chorister at his local church in Abeokuta where he grew up.

His passion for music began when he was studying at Obafemi Awolowo University. He released a single titled ”Jealous” which brought him to the limelight after he signed to YBNL Nation

, a record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide.

The song “Jealous” was built around love and then mix feelings that comes with it. It was directed by director K and produced by Cracker Mallo.

In 2019, he reelased another single titled ”What If I Say” which was based on a romantic story and was produced Pheelz and directed by TG Omori for the video.

On 29th November, 2019, Fireboy released his first studio album ”Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps” which was streamed by over 6 million people on Spotify three days after it’s release. LTG comprises of a 13 tracks and doesn’t feature any guest artist.

Even though it received positive comments for being one of the best music but was later criticised for being and Afro-life record instead of R&B album.

His song is being classified as slow groove pop by Alphonse Pierre of Pitchfork whiles he himself also describes his songs as Afro-live.

Fireboy has won couple of awards after his emergence into the music industry. In 2019, he won the most promising act of the year at City People’s Music Awards. In 2012, Sound City MVP Awards festivale named him as Listeners Choice Awards artiste of the year.
