A former Cameroonian football right-back, Stephen Tataw has been confirmed dead in Yaounde the capital city of Cameroon.

The former national team right back achieved so many laurels for his nation as he captained his side to the 1990 and 1994 editions of the FIFA World Cup in Italy and USA respectively.

He had his club playing career with the Tonnerre Yaounde from 1988 to 1991 and proceeded to Olympic Mvolyé from 1992 to 1994. He died at the age of 57.
