Marcelo Lippi, former Juventus and Italy team coach has retired from coaching.
The world cup winning couch who is now 72 years after resigning from coaching China National Team has been unemployed since November last year.
He lost with China to Syria in 2022 World Cup qualification which was his last coaching match, and that was his second time of coaching the China National Team. He coached the Asian team for just 6 months.
But in his World Cup gories, Coach Marcello Lippi won the 2006 World Cup with Italy National Team which earned him a re-appointment by the Azzurri in 2008 following two years away from the national team.
Unfortunately, Mr. Marcello Lippi has retire from football coaching. He said
“I’m definitely done with the coaching job,” Lippi told Radio Sportiva .
“That’s right, it’s enough. Maybe I could be useful in other roles, let’s see. But nothing until spring.”

Coach Lippi also won three Chinese Super League titles and the AFC Champions League trophy to go with Chinese FA Cup and Chinese FA Super Cup success., with Guangzhou Evergrande in 2012.
However, he couldn’t win an International trophy with the Chinese National Team.
“A team should give everything on the pitch. The tactics of the head coach should be carried out. If the player is afraid of losing the game, then there is no fighting spirit, desire, guts,” Lippi said post-match.
“It is my responsibility, the head coach’s responsibility, although we defeated Guam and the Maldives, but the team that we played against today was better, more coordinated and organised than us.
“My annual salary is very high. I am fully responsible for this loss. Now I declare that I officially resigned”. He said.
