John Agyekum Kufuor, Ghana’s former president and a former student of Prempeh College, has spoken to his alma mater’s flamboyant triumph in the 2021 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
Moments after Prempeh College won the competition, the former president took to Twitter to thank the budding men who had flown the flag of his alma mater.
Prempeh College emerged winners after snatching 53, whilst Legon Presec placed second with 46, and Keta Senior Technical school came up with 37 points.
The excited ex-president wrote;
“Congratulations! Prempeh College Your hard work and perseverance have paid off. So proud of you guys. #NSMQFinals“
The first runner-up took home “GHS30,000 to the school, GHS17,000 to the team of students, and GH₵17,000 to the teachers, summing up to GH₵64,000 in total. The school that placed third received, GH₵50,000. GH₵20,000 to the school, GH₵15,000 to the students, and GH₵15,000 to the teachers.
Meanwhile, US-based Ghanaian artist and pastor, Sonnie Badu has praised Ghanaian comedian Aka benezer, also known as Dr Likee, after the comedian praised him in one of his comedy videos.
Dr. Likee has been bringing smiles to the cheeks of Ghanaians who have lost interest in Kumawood films in one manner or another.
Dr. Likee is heard shouting praises of the Gospel artist in a comedy skit released by Sonnie Badu on his own Instagram page, prompting Sonnie Badu to appreciate him.
In response to the video, he pledged to have supper with the comedian whenever he visits Ghana as a way of thanking him for his support.
