The former Togolese Prime Minister Édouard Kodjovi Kodjo, simply referred to as Edem Kodjo is dead.
The foreign minister of Togo Robert Dussey announced his death in a recent post on his Twitter on 12th April, 2020.
According to him, the former Togolese Prime Minister died after battling with long illness. He stated that the former Prime Minister died in Paris on the 11th of April,2020 at age 82.
Edem Kodjo who was the former Prime of Togo served the country from 1994-1996 and also from 2005-2006, under the leadership of the Togolese former president Gnassingbe Eyadem.
The foreign minister Robert Dussey tweeted;
“A brilliant academic, and an ardent pan-African, our beloved Edem Kodjo died in Paris after a long illness. You will always remain a reference for us. On the eve of Easter, You practicing Christian return to your creator. Condolences to his family”.
Late Kodjo Edem also served as Togo’s minister of finance from the 1973-1976 and also as a minister of foreign Affairs from 1976-1978.
