France beat a resilient Croatia side to win their second World Cup few hours ago in the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The historic win ensures that France’s coach Didier Deschamps becomes the third person to win the trophy as a player and a manager.

France did not start explosively but an own goal from Mandzukic; from an Antoine Griezmann’s free kick which was flicked into his own net by he Croatian striker, bolstered their confidence and that was when they came into the game ‘properly.’

And despite a wonderful equalizer from Perisic in the 29 minutes, the French roared back; (amidst a VAR controversy) with goals from Antoine Griezmann, Kyllian Mbappe and Paul Pogba.

Croatia played their heart out, but the script had been written beforehand. France are World Champions for the second time.
