George Floyd’s memorial service is set to be held today, a week after nationwide protests over his death in the hands of a Minneapolis police officer.

Civil rights activist Al Sharpton will lead the ceremony and it will take place in Minneapolis.

Sharpton will read the eulogy for George Floyd and in a Twitter post on Wednesday, he wrote;

“Tomorrow we will lay out how we will mobilize nationally in the name of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and more.”

Meanwhile, the police officer in question has seen his charges increased to a second-degree murder which can be seen as manslaughter.

Also, his three colleagues who were at the scene of George Floyd’s were charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
