The Electoral Commission (EC) says about 30,000 names cannot exercise their right to vote in the upcoming December 7 elections despite participating in the voters’ registration exercise.

Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, Deputy Commissioner in charge of Corporate Services disclosed the information.

He said out of the 17 million registered voters, the Ec has disqualified 30,000 from voting on December 7.

Mr. Asare said they said number of people cannot vote because they have engagaed in infractions.

“They cannot vote because they had engaged in infractions.”

He also said the EC has put 14,000 of them on Exceptions List, and about 16,000 names are also on the Multiple List.

The Deputy Commissioner, disclosed the information to Joy News on their program ‘The Probe.”

Mr. Asare also refuted that claims that the election can be flawed and intentionally direct winning results to one party by the EC.

“When you look at everything, you will know that a flawed election cannot be part of us. And when you look at the measures and mechanisms we have put in place everything is set.

We have informed the parties via letters that we are going to print the ballot papers so make sure your agents are there. So a flawed election is not possible.” He stated.
