Ghana Election 2020: Former President John Dramani Mahama has emphatically said that, he never sponsored adverts to against implementation of Free SHS policy under his government.
Mr. Mahama said the in formation the National Democratic Congress (NDC) tried to disseminate to Ghanaians was that, the Free SHS didn’t supposed to be introduced by rush and some selfish politicians desperate for power.
He said the 1992 constitution calls for a free progressive education and that was what he started in 2015.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Ghgossip.com, Mr. Mahama said; ” I was been prophetic, the implementation has been very poor and that is what has ended in the double track. That is what has ended up in our Free Senior High School programme been the most expensive one in the world, very wasteful.”

However, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia claims the then NDC government under John Mahama sponsored a total of 40 media adverts against Free SHS.
In his last speech at the Nation Building Update on Thursday 26th November, 2020, Mr. Bawumia alleged “They even went to the Supreme Court to stop Free SHS. They ran over 40 adverts against Free SHS. Today the NDC and their flagbearer are looking at us and saying that they started free SHS.”
